Beating on the handle dosen't appeal to me as I'm a'feared of bustin' sumting and I've been searching for one of these for too darn long to go bustin' this one. Actually, my fellow Galoot and rust hunting buddy found this for me at a flea market for $20. He called me on his cellphone and asked me if I wanted it. I told him that was a dumb question. ;~) He gave me vise for free :~), but charged me a $20 delivery fee. :~(

What's between the jaws seems to a pitman arm.

This vise is used primarily by blacksmiths, but can be used for other things surely.
