Here�s the latest update on the Bedrock Scrub Project. Today I installed, peened and filed the brass rods for the wooden infills, honed the really awesome blade I purchased from Jim Reed, borrowed the lever cap from a Stanley #40 and planed the first piece of wood with the B.S.P. infill.There may very soon be a Stanley #40 for sale.




The plane weighs in at 2 lb 1.4 oz., while a Stanley #40 weighs in at 2 lb 0.1oz, not as much of a difference as I would have thought there was going to be. With the addition of the brass lever cap in the near future maybe the mass will grow even further. All thoughts, comments, critiques welcome as I intend to build more planes and like hearing input from this knowledgeable group of people.

Perhaps you need to use a denser stuffing to increase the mass of the B.S.. Those wispy, dinky little shavings you showed aren't diddly-do, we wanna see some hog, hog, hog, HOGGING!!! 'ug, ug, ug, hog, hog, hog!
