Bedrock Scrub Plane

>Hi All,
After my earlier success this week in rehabbing an older plane , I moved forward on the plans to build a copy of Rob Brophys Bedrock Scrub Plane.
After much head scratching and chin rubbing I came up with a drawing/program on the waterjet that cuts the main pieces out of sheet stock.
The base is made up of 3/16 stainless steel and the sidewalls are made of 1/8 stainless steel.
I hope to TIG weld a stainless steel nut onto the raised areas to attach the knob and tote.
The rest of the plane will be assembled by peening over the dovetailed areas of the sides to the base and then LOTS of filing to flatten the sides/base.
Stainless steel may be a tougher choice than brass or mild steel but there was a lot of scrap laying around and itll be one plane I dont have to worry about rust : )
Al the pieces need a fair amount of filing of the sharp edges/burrs before assembly. I hope to keep a running photo record of my progress and post further updates as work gets completed.
