By myself a dovetail saw for Christmas
Stephen Kirk in Quakertown, PA
>My current dovetails, while they fit, look like they were molested (crooked, gaps, etc). I think my little Craftsman gent saw is really contributing to my problems. I tried resharpening it to rip with rather limited success.
I looked that saws out there, and it seems that the Lie Neilsen Independence is just one of the best. I think I'm at the point where I want to cut dovetails, not rehab saws. So, should I just go ahead and get myself a present? I've even still got a $15 off coupon for Woodcraft (and they sell them).
When I looked at the saws, the Pax is cheaper down around $70 or so, but I figure at that point, just go right up to the LN or Adria and get a really good saw (not much price difference). I also like Western saws, so I'm not that interested in Japanese varieties.
