I made a point of being here and gave up going to my Friday Flea Market and they never showed up or called I tried them a few times but only got a machine. I called then this morning and they are supposed to come look at it on Wed.
Isn't any worse but not any better either.
In my experance it is very hard to get any tradesman like this to come and do work for you....and I am paying hard cash now.I am putting in a new furnance this week too and had the same with that. I think with such a good economy they just have more work then they want.....Will get back when I find out the problim...Todd

>It is tough. Took me a long, long time to get any tradesmen to show up six years ago; and even then had to make 5 calls to the electrician to give me his estimate after he'd showed. When I finally found excellent vendors, electrical and plumbing, I definitely kept their names and call them back. I've yet to find a good, reliable carpenter, appliance, or HVAC vendor; so we're doing the carpentry, will have to stumble along on our own with the other two.
One thing I did learn though, if they don't show the first time, call someone else.

>I agree 1000% with Pam, especialy if they didn't call you and say "Sorry ol' boy, no can do today", or better yet, no can do tomorrow. Now, I understand that they could of got started on the job list for the day, and things could of taken longer than expected (DAMHIKT), but I also understand courtesy. with just about everybody having a cell phone today, I don't think this is too unreasonable to expect. If 'n I was a' you 'un I'd let them know that in your proffession you make $100 and hour and that they owe you for the time that you waited.
I know you're an easy going fellow Todd, but sometimes you've just to be an arse. I find it hard to do myself, tho as I'm getting older it seems to be becoming easier, and easier.
