Double screw clamp storage

>I want to reclaim the portion of wall these double screw clamps are hanging. I was thinking that I might screw them to the under side of the floor joists overhead. Has anyone done this? Is this going to make it a hardhat area? I was thinking of adding a bungie cord down the joist and the center of the clamps as a safety.
Any other ideas? I do not want a rack that takes up floor space either.

>I've been storing mine for years by clamping them to a stud. They hold just fine even here in earthquake-land, but, once I can get back in the shop again (currently working just about FT on prepping my parents' house for sale), I plan to install clamp storage just like your current design. Having to adjust them to the right size to clamp to the stud is time-consuming; your storage looks quicker in use, and I hope it will be.
There's another solution, of course - you really ought to free up more space for your dump finds, something you can do easily by shipping them to me...

I've stored my double screw clamps (hand screws) by clamping them to the ceiling joists over my workbench for 15 years. I've never had one of them fall. It probably goes without saying, but I make sure they are tight.

Either you need to buy more tools or you have a big shop! I like you clamp storage though. I have a lubber rack that is under the stairs that come down to my cave on the other side of the stairs the clamps are attached to a 2X6 stud. I think you table saw is bigger than my shop.

Ya I wen� back and lookeed the pic, that shelf is now full and the cabinet next to it is also full.

I'm curious about the Stanley-looking miter box at the very top, at the right end of the left metal shelving unit, roughly centered in the photo - it looks like the saw leans. Is that so, or is it just not fully assembled or something?

SWMBO is talking about some crown molding in the living room so I might give it a try.
