>This is another in my continuing series of plane rehabilitations. Now I have a box of #98 rabbets to fix up. All were missing blades, but that was remedied by a little digging in my blade stash. One is now complete and ready to go. The others are all missing knobs and bladeholders. Looks like a lathe project for the knobs and a little steelworking for the holders. I will scrounge through the boxes for the screws--probably the same thumbscrew that is used to hold a #78 depth stop. Right now it is about 40 degrees in the shop, so that limits sessions to about an hour. Thought you might like to see the *class photo*.

Of course, if they're selfish and focused on their careers, they may wait too long and have difficulty producing little planes of their own. Then they often have to resort to extreme measures, up to and including adopting little planes from far away countries. That's why you see so many more Anant planes around here than you did a while ago.

>I thought maybe the offspring would be so foreign that a 98 and 99 would avoid reproducing. How many more 79's can the world stand? And I've heard of 98/99 pairings that sacrifice and don't have any offspring, just to help keep the world in balance. Hardly selfish. :)
