OT: "No Audio Data" on Sony DVD

Tom Colligan

>I bought the 2 set DVD by Glen Huey on making a "Massachusetts High Chest of Drawers' from the Book Club. The two DVDs worked fine and Glen's a great teacher; as amiable as Norm. But the package came with a 'Bonus DVD' and when I enter this in my player a message comes on 'No Audio Data'. What can I do to get the DVD to show anything?

Really OT now, I visited my local pro bike shop last week and asked if he had a catalog on 2007 GIANT bicycles. He handed me a DVD and this too won't work and shows the same message: "No Audio Data". My player isn't more then 3 years old.

Thanks in advance, Tom.

>My first dvd player (purchased in 1999 or so, jvc brand) lasted about 3 years. I got it repaired for about $150, repair lasted a year. Since then, they've averaged one per year, regardless of the cost. I can't say for sure your dvd player is toast, but it's way overdue.

One way to test it is to try the discs in another dvd player, say one in your computer.

>Hi Tom

I work in the Movie industry and we burn allot of DVD's for DOP's, Director's, and Executive Directors.

Sometimes these DVD's just won't play in every DVD player out there and it truly is random. Your best bet is to ask for a new one if it is something you wnat to see or find another DVD player to play it

Cheers

>and tell them that you'll consider buying a DVD player that plays your DVD's. That'll also help you find out if it's your player or the DVD's, and you may find a permanent fix while you're there.

fwiw, I've had problems with second rate DVD's on my older DVD player... not impying your DVD's are second rate, just that mine were. They played just fine on newer DVD players or laptops.

good luck

>Thank you, Pam, Dan and Dave. I put the DVD in my computer and realized that this 'Bonus' CD was entirely in PDF format for the purpose of printing off the plans, etc. Thank you again, Tom.
