Recipe Box
Donald Pierson
>I finally finished a recipe box I have been making for one of my daughter's birthday present...boy is it late! Took a lot longer because I ran into a lot of problems along the way. The box is 0.6 inch thick walnut and has twisted dovetail joints. I made the joints 0.125 inches proud just to see how it would look...gives it a log-cabin-rustic look. The lid has a picture of my daughter when she was a teenager...about 25 years ago. The 3,4,5,6 minute timers are from Lee Valley and are encapsulated in a piece of walnut. It has a magnet embedded in the back so it will stick to the washer on the side of box, refrig, toaster, etc. Learned a lot on this project...for one make designs that are not beyond one's skill levels...Don in Vancouver,WA,USA
