>We were in Kentucky and Tennessee this week (about 900 miles from home) and got to tour Don Weber's chair shop in Paint Lick Ky. Don is very busy but very graciously gave my wife and me the full tour. I hope we didn't put him behind schedule very much. We also visited the Museum of Appalachia near Clinton Tn (very worth while) and the Artisan Center in Berea (also very worth while).

>He presently works alone but he is adding two full time craftsmen to his shop soon. A lot of his time is taken up with workshops. Seems like a great guy, very easy to talk too. If I ever get back to Paint Lick again you can be sure that his shop will be one of my stops.

>Don is an excellent fellow. I had the priviledge of meeting him at Rosewood Studio in Ottawa, where he gave us a lecture on blacksmithing. I had lunch with him and Rob Lang. He gave me many pointers on setting up and making a substitute anvil. He's a real craftsman, learning both the trade of a bodger and a blacksmith first hand, from masters. very personable too. I suspect he'll be one of the few new icons of hand tool woodworking.

>There is a Woodwright site, and they sell videos. There is a Don Weber/Roy video where they make a chisel that I have on tape somewhere, it is pretty cool. I like Don's California shop better though. It's not Weber with whoom Roy is currently making the high chair. I assume Pam's number is for a different episode.

>Might be time to contact PBS customer service. I bought a couple or three tapes within the last six months, but chose from a list of available tapes, not the whole series. Hope St. Roy is at Williamsburg, maybe I'll ask him.
