>hello

Does anyone have any tips on restoring patina. A couple of days ago i post a massage about a 3 foot wooden plane a wanted to restore.

That worked out fine but i can still see the new wood very good.

Any tips, tricks or links??

Green paint will cover a lot of sins. :>)

>Just joking. This goes back to high school shop days (about 40 years ago), when about the prettiest project built that year got painted green for God only knows what reason by the builder.

>For quick jobs but one that still gives very good results I just take a can of flat black spray paint spray the paint on the wood lightly and then wiipe off with a rag right away befor it can dry. Do this on the fresh wood as well as the old surface next to it. If you want you can go over it all with some very fine steel wool and then wax it with some dark brie wax and polish off....should be OK .....Todd

>Victor,

How about posting some pics of your plane. Let us see how you restored it, before, in the middle and after, if possible.
