This kind of magic happens all the time, usually by the mere presence of the healer. Take the car to the service center with a problem and it runs perfectly. Call a repairman for something and the offending appliance works like you just bought it.

I'm surprised there was never an X Files episode on the subject.

>When things fix themselves. ;-) I know that if it quit once, it will do so again, and at the worst possible time. It is hard to fix if it ain't currently broke. I used to work on a line repairing electronic equipment. Most of the other workers would go through the pile of things to be repaired and look for one that at least sorta worked. I always took the ones that were completly non-functional. I could fix those ;-)

Tried just unplugging it and plugging it back in again, no dice. Tried taking it for a ride around the block, still no dice. The tech had to do the laying on of hands. I made the round trip twice before I upgraded to a new machine.
