Consolidating long threads for easier reading

I'm thinking of Dirk's workbench thread, for example, where it is just too much to follow all the various contributions and where some good general WB questions get a good airing. Probably have to leave out the pictures (but maybe not, if it's just one long HTML page, it can have the whole lot). Each entry is just added in sequence with the Author's name and the text, so we can read/print out the whole saga!
I guess that the WC message database could be persuaded to spit out all the appropriate content in a long stream that could be sent as a single page. Any IT types able to comment? It would depend on how the threading is handled, I guess, but as we can see the threads correctly in the forum, it must be manageable!
cheers
Miles (also contemplating a bench, but perhaps not one as complex as Dirk envisages!)
