>O.k. To all who have expressed interest. I need to have in my hands all the irons by Nov. 7th. Those who wish to have me buy the steel for them need to let me know by next Thursday the 26th. (Size, number of irons, thickness, etc.) I will be buying the steel then. As I have said I can cut to length and put a bevel on the steel for anyone who needs that. I will not be milling slots. I don't use chip breakers. I do use faily thick irons when I can. If anyone is interested in how a make my planes and want to try the no chip breakers deal let me know. It's pretty simple and works very well. No worries about money, we can settle up after folks get their blades.
I can front this operation. There is trust in this comunity. Those who are making their own irons need to drill a 1/8" hole for hanging for the heat treating. The heat treating will finish the irons at Rc 62 to 63. They will have a black oxide finish. Did I leave anything out ?
