Edge bead across the grain - Help!
Ray Drueke
>Hi,
I'm trying to add an edge bead to some window casing for an addition to an 18th century colonial (reproduction). With the grain all is well
but across the grain at the ends I'm getting tearout like crazy. The wood is pine and the plane (wood 1/4" edge bead)is as sharp as I can get it with scary sharp and a stone.
It also tears out with some poplar from the scrap bin and also both tear out when I try the molding head cutters on the p*w*r*d t*ble*saw.
Suggestions? I've thought of 'applied' bead to the edge but I'm
not sure how to do that!
Thanks,
Ray.
