OT - allergenic firewood?
Bill Houghton, retired fun in Sebastopol, CA
>My parents' house had a tree, common names apparently California pepper tree, Brazilian pepper tree, and others, Latin name Schinus Molle. It died, and we had it cut down; I salvaged the wood for firewood, but our son burned some and thought he had a reaction to it. Before I get the last truckload from an hour and a half away, rent a splitter, etc., I'm trying to find out if the wood is an allergenic wood. USDA's Forest Products Laboratory couldn't help (the guy I was referred to had never heard of the species), there's rumored to be a University of California lab but I haven't been able to locate it...
Anyone have any idea either what the answer is or where I might find out?
