ECE router plane

>I recently bought a used ECE router plane. The blades for this plane are supposed to be bent at close to a right angle, as you can see in this picture. On my plane, however, the angles are pretty different from blade to blade. I'm sure that as I start using it, I'll find that some blades will work better than others because of the angle variation, but I don't know the best way to go about changing the angle of the bend.
Any suggestions?

>I wouldn't worry about the angle. That only affects the clearance with the stock after the cut has been made. I don't have this exact model, but I have metal ones by Stanley and Ohio Tool. The trick is to make sure the cutters are ILLEGALLY sharp and don't try to take off too much at a time. They work best for me if I do most of the hogging with a chisel and use the router for clean-up/smooth-up. YMMV

>Please keep in mind the blades need to be sharpened stright across. Any varation will cause the blade to have a skewed angle, and hence will not create a flat bottomed grove, dado, etc...
