>Upcoming is the semi-annual flea market blow out in Friendship, Indiana, just outside of Cincinnati. I've never been there (yet) but it's supposed to be huge. I'm gonna try it out this year. It starts Saturday, Sept. 9th and runs all week.

If you come and if you see an overweight guy with a grizzled grey beard carrying a bunch of rusty tools, wearing a straw panama hat and trying to look a lot more intelligent than he really is, stop him and ask "are you Roy Anderson". After you do this a few times, they will probably ask you to leave.

There is very little in the way of tools. The last few years there have been two different guys set up at the big flea market closest to Farmers Retreat that have some nice stuff but at premium prices. The Old Mill flea market that is actually in Friendship has one guy who sells a lot of blacksmithing tools along with a few other hand tools. There are bargins if you are lucky, like the 12 dollar 4 1/2 I found at a booth that didn't have another tool but that one.

If you have never been there before it would be worth your while to pay the admission fee to enter the NMLRA ranges. The second log building from the main gate is Gunmakers Hall. It is worth the price of admission just to go in that building and see what mortal hands can do with wood, steel, and brass. Chances are, you will be humbled.

The ticket also lets you in the primitive range on the other side of the creek.
