Alumo plane

George in Lowell, Mich.

>I bought an Alumo 2B rabbet plane at an estate sale last week. Unfortunately it was the body only ;^(, but for $.25 I wasn't complaining.

I made a blade and a blade clamp (which was missing also)and tryed it out only to find it wasn't very useable. Set the blade and it would cut to that depth and stop???? Set the blade deeper and it would cut to that depth and stop. Is that how this plane was used? Maybe this is why you don't see many of them around?

Does anyone own one of these planes and can shed some light on its use.

Thanks,

George in Showboat City

>One was A and the other was B. They were plow planes of differing widths. Sounds like your blade is too narrow. They come up on the Bay every now & then.
