Well Damn and Blast--It's Over
Todd O. Cronkhite Maine Native Now in FL. :~(
>After a 30 day "vacation" I just reported back to work an hour ago. :~( Will be nice to get a paycheck again tho. :~)
I must say that even tho I didn't get to go anywhere-other than Lowes that is--or get to do any work on my planned on new workbench I did rather enjoy myself getting much done to the house. I got way more done that I had inteneded or even expected, but hey, it all needed doing, so I do'ed dem.
I did manage to get my garage floor sheathed with cheap plywood, and using recommendations from Islanders I now have a 4 mil vapor barrier plastic sheeting under it AND some of that this blue construction foam sheeting. This sheeting unto itself made a tremendous difference in the "feel" of the floor. I also manage to get the inside of my garage door filled with styrofoam, which I can tell already will make a huge difference during the cooler months.
The Bright spot of this whole vacation without a doubt was the vist I had from our veryt own Raymond Wendrzycki! Yup all the way down from Jersey--rumors have it that he is the Jersey Devil, but they are unconfirmed. Unfortunately I felt that I was patheticaly underprepared for his visit as I was so engrossed in doing house jobs that I failed to prepare for a nice workshop visit. We did haowever spend an evening watching a couple of WW videous that you couldn't pay me to watch again. I'd rather watch golf wearing a frilly penny and pink high heels in my front yard that have to watch them again, but ahhhhhhhhhhhh well, so it goes. Sure was nice to see Ray again tho and we did have share a few cold ones and a bunch of laughs---as usual. Ray is a Top Of The Line and presented me with a cool miniture Maine State flag, which I have temporarily hung over my washing machine. Thank you so much for that Ray I truely love it. Next time you come down I am fully set up for some shop time together now. Man, I wish you had come two weeks later.
Sad part of my vacation was yesterday my cat SweetHeart was killed by a car. She was such a Beautiful and Loving cat. She was forever grooming and loving on her sisters, and was as her name implied a true true SweetHeart. I will long, long miss her. I buried her in the backyard. Its hard to dig a grave with tears in your eyes.
Now that I'm back to work perhaps I'll fet more Island Time in, the Taskmaster that I worked for while on vacation allowed almost none.
