If the answers are "small," "softwood like pine," and "not very," it might - might - be OK. A tool like this isn't going to be good for high precision work, work of large section, or challenging wood.

I've never used one of those, but I've looked at them, and they just don't compare with an older miter box in good shape, for which tool I've paid as little as $15 at a garage sale. The trouble is, then you have to cruise garage sales, and not everyone thinks this is a good way to spend time.

And this would be a tricky item to buy on eBay without more knowledge of what to look for and what to ask than you may currently have.
