>I have a few of those made by the defunct Ulmia company. Red beech body and hornbeam sole. Nice planes at a good price. I prefer the version with a lignum sole, but hornbeam is OK. Easy plane to use, nice and quiet. Wood against wood is a nice sound. The shape is a bit unorthodox to us here in the USA, but I find it comfortable to grip. If they put a good blade with it, you will find it outperforming a #4 Stanley.

I think the new Ulmia and ECE are very good planes performing better, need less tuning than a new Kunz or Anant or an old Stanley, actually a bargain. I have an ECE fillester and an Ulmia Jointer. If you have no problem adjusting the blade with a hammer, you will enjoy much planing for a small budget. If you want an adjustment, look at the link below ECE has some planes with adjustment systems similar to those of metal planes.

That isn't true for the planes. They are excellent now. I have a new dovetail plane. It performs very well and is well crafted.
