Removing a dent from wood

>Hi All,
Well I cut my first (acceptable) mortice by hand yesterday, using my new Ray Isles pig-sticker from Joel (gloat, gloat). I was feeling pretty damn good about myself until I looked at the back of the piece. There is a pretty sizeable dent on the opposite face. Novice mistake: I pulled up the work piece to examine the mortice half-way through cutting it, and when I put it back down something must have been trapped under it. Anyway, never to do that again is a valuable lesson in and of itself, but now I am looking for a solution for getting the dent out. It's a fairly slender table leg, and I have some material to cut another, but if there is an alternative, I'd rather not mill another part. Thanks,
