>I'm in the middle of making a trestle table for our dining area. Most of the work on the table has been done using hand tools. The only thing that hasn't been cut by hand are the mortises and the feet which were cut with a mortising machine and a bandsaw, respectively. I took some pics of the work in progress and thought you guys might want to see one of Mike's saws in action.

That's a nice looking one. Makes gorgeous saw kerfs. The model is not on Mike's homepage. How did you two came up with it? Does it have a historic predecessor? Oh yes, what's the tpi? And how satisfied are you with your choice of tpi?

I enjoy these shop shots... Nice looking trestle. Beautiful saw horse. I've been wanting to make one of these low ones for years. I assume the Portuguese wine is for when the kerfs are too straight??

The saw is based on the no9 but with some changes that Mike made for me. The front (toe,nose?) of the saw is straight rather than having the no9's curved, protruding front. He also added the little clipped flourish on the brass back.
I think it's 10-12ppi filed rip. The blade is 14" long with a 3-3/4" depth of cut. I like using it a lot. Now I just need a Seaton tenon saw to go along with it for cutting really big tenons. ;-)
