I've buggered up my LN 140. What to do?

>My favorite plane is my little skew block plane, the LN 140. Unfortunately, I have deflected the bolt shaft and slightly cross threaded it. This is the part that is on the adjusting wheel. I think I must have been running it with the cap screw too loose and I was too far out on the end of the bolt. I don't know how to get the deflection out of the bolt shaft. I think I could clean up the threads easily enough if I was sure that the threats were standard machine threads. I'd just get a tap and die and run them through.
See the pic below. The bolt shaft is very slightly deflected and the threads are very slightly gauled. The nut part is also slightly gauled, just enough to prevent hand tightening.
Any advice would be appreciated.
