>That's excellent! I bought a set of All-Clad pans (the Masterchef ones) over 10 years ago, and have never looked back. The thing that amazes me is that mine are not nonstick, and I've never had anything stick to the pans -- not even fish fillets.

Seriously, high quality hand tools for woodworking are always at the top of my list, but high quality hand tools for cooking (and serving and eating) come a very close second. When I'm not building woodworking tools, or fixing up old dinghies, I'm most apt to be working on tools for food.

>And if you want to fill out the set, I've found that All Clads occasionally find their way into the housewares section at Ross/TJ Maxx/Marshall's sort of places. It takes some digging through the 90% of their cookware that seems to be made of heavy-gauge aluminum foil, but when you find some, the prices can NOT be beat. I found one $225 AllClad saute pan at a local Ross marked down to $39 - and a bit of digging even turned up its lid.
