what a dummy I am.......

>I've been wanting for a while to forge my own hand tools, due to the economics......I went to an auction yesterday to find an old beat up anvil.....(good size for what I need, about 100lbs, though the back half was broke off past the pritchel hole....) it was in rough shape, the top wasn't near flat by eye, quite hollowed....and it looked as though it'd been outside it's whole life.....but I'm not much of an auction person...and my inexperience cost me the anvil......I went to 30, it sold for 35......I was so irritated that I left, and forgot about the other goodies.......such as two nice Stanley #12 scraper planes......(one hidden in a bunch of junk, I'm sure it would have went choice)....oh yeah and a bedrock 606, and some nice woodies and transitionals, and did I mention the awesome wooden crown and sash planes.....wow.....what a dummy I am......I'll find another anvil somewhere, but as for the other stuff....maybe someday.....
