>I have marching orders. I have to build deck chairs. I'm committed to doing it the galootish way, sacrificing minimal electrons... O.K. I confess, I have a hand drill. That's it.

I could use some suggestions on a decent design. I built an Adirondack chair and hated it. It just doesn't feel right.

Also, since I need to build at least 4 copies, I could use some suggestions on neanderzone mass production. I envision stacking up a bunch of dimensional 1X4's and bandsawing out a batch of leg replicants, but that is out of the question.

Any help appreciated.

>I've built lots of the Lee Valley chairs over the years. They are comfortable and sturdy. The last few I made using Home Depot stainless deck screws. They stained the mahogony black. I suggest if you need screws, use McFeely's. I used Gorrila glue for the parts that needed gluing.

Ingredients for a comfortable Addy are reclined, flexible, contoured back, contoured seat, arms level and wide enough to handle a paper plate of BBQ, potato salad, and slaw, and just enough paint to get it through to the next porch repaint.
