>There seem to be a fair number of Oakvillites who might be interested in this from another board:

"There is a place called Terra Nova Steel & Iron in Mississauga (toronto suburb) that specializes in cast iron"

Haven't tried it myself, but they seem to sell cast iron for folks who want to make their own reference flats.

Could you provide any more details on this project. Are you just planning on getting it surfaced at a machine shop?

>I don't have any plans on this project, it was just a source that pooped up while I was researching a surface grinder project. I already have a Japanesee plate, and if I make a surface grinder, around 20% chance right now, I wouldn't need anything else most of the time. But I figured people are interested in cast iron for diamond sharpening or SC sharpening so I'm passing the reference on.
