>I don't know how he did it, but I don't see any reason why he couldn't have just built it standard infill style. Lots of examples in Mitchell's book. Just build 2x2 infill walls to account for the recess and then hang the clapboards conventionally. That might not be the most wonderful approach if you were trying to maximize wall thickness for insulation, but that probably doesn't mater in this example.

There is a product like that designed to speed up the installation of clapboards that they use regularly on TOH, so the idea of clapboard on ply wouldn't be stepping out ahead of the tech curve.

It's great looking "shed" isn't it? I've never really considered a breezeway as part of a shed design - it makes a ton of sense...
