>Yes, check the Hiraide site. Harrelson's dvd (called "Kanna") on sharpening Japanese plane blades is inspired and complete. He addresses all the problems you may encounter as well as the ideal no-problem situations. He is the one importing Shapton stones, truly an expert.

>I bought the Kanna DVD about 2 months ago, and to my understanding, it's prtty much the finished product, minus a fancy cover and printing on the DVDs themselves.

If you order one, you'll get 2 burned DVD-R's, and they will send you the finished product once it's out. Go ahead and order it. Having viewed my beta copy a few times, I can't see any reason to wait for the finished copy.

>Thanks Wilbur, but I ordered it over a year ago, just wondering about the finished product. It is without a doubt a fantastic treatment on Japanese planes. Everything from setting up the plane to sharpening and fitting the blade. It cleared up, for me, some of the mysteries surrounding Japanese planes.
