Stanley 65 Block Plane Type Studies

>I have a few of these "knuckle cap" types that are constantly stowing rides in my truck. I have the Blood and Gore info and Walters but was looking for some studies that go into a little more depth. I notice a few differences in them. Patent dates.. blade markings.. LA knob wording and size as well as the fact that some say 65 on the side aprons.
Could anyone point me in the right direction?
