Hey Chico, Wanna Trade?
Jim Shaver - Oakville, Ontario
>Hi,
Those Blue Marples for these? Just kidding!!

I wanted to share with you my first serious Japanese chisel purchase. These are triangular slick chisels from Misuigi Designs (http://www.misugidesigns.com/chisels.html). These are made in Japan by chisel maker Chuttaro Imai. The chisels are stamped with his signiture as are the handles by the handle maker.
I was inspired to investigate these chisels late last yearafter having returned from a visit to Konrad Sauers shop. He had a set like these and I was very much interested in them after Konrad showed me them. I also exchanged a few emails with Wiley Horne, he also gave me some very good feed back on them so I bought this set.

They are made with sword steel and the chisel handles are with what is described as Tagayasan wood (Rosewood).
I have not yet sharpened them, but I am delighted to have them. I know they will be part of my woodworking experience, I think the nice to have vs. the need to have has struck a bit of a yin -yang balance in me right now.
Anyway, just want to share and also to Thank Wiley and Konrad for their advice and comments,
Take care,
Jim
I have no affiliation with Misugi Designs, just a happy customer
