>That can be fixed!

Oh well the parts have to be worth at least $8.

>Right, Kevin, not only can it be fixed. It has been fixed!

Looking at the right cheek, you'll see a row of nicely countersunk screws.

The real giggle comes from the sellers full disclosure: "The curve section of the handle is missing as is a piece of the base metal. Not a major factor."

As well, I find this laughable: "The tall knob and handle are original and Brazilian Rosewood."

>Looks like the left cheek has the same row of screws but there seems to be an offset where the two pieces of cheek metal come together. I guess he knew what he was doing - someone paid him $25 for it!

Re: no kidding!

Moses Yoder in White Pigeon, MI

>Can't beleive this plane sold for $25. Someone will be real disappointed I imagine and then talk about how they got ripped off. Perhaps it would be worth $25 just to hang it on the wall with a copy of the ebay description ;) I feel a whole knew era of collectables coming on.

Actually BOTH cheeks!

Raymond in Trenton, NJ

>The second pic down on the description (link in Bob's orig post) shows the other cheek with the same screws. I smell a Feankenplane. Somebody sure believed the "A great looking highly prized collector"

Raymond

>This proves what Todd H has been saying.Presentation is very important for successful ebay sales. This seller got $25 for a piece of junk just by selling it well.---Jack

>I think it's kinda' neat really. Somebody went thru an awful lot of trouble to repair this plane, and from what I see I think they did a darn good job of it. I've got to wonder why they did go thru all this trouble and when. I bet it was done long ago when the option of buying another one wasn't a good financial option. Pity about the big chip in the sole tho. Heck, if not for that I might of been willing go $25 for it just to show what a bit of ingeunity and determination can pull off when the need is great enough.

>Be very mindful of your speed if you get down into the Lawtey area. That is a AAA recognized speed Trap town.

Bummer your coming thru on a workday otherwise I'd arrange for a visit. If you happen to find you're coming way this way again try to arrange it so you can get in at least one weekend. I'll send you home with a cat. Had seven more born 3 weeks ago, so now I have 15. Got to find homes for these new 7. :~(

Look at the grain of the tote and shape of knob

HC Sakman @ Victoria, BC

>Both are remade by an amateur. Grain is running vertically in that tote. If they're original Brazilian rosewood then I am Brad Pitt.

Since this seller went to great lengts of detailed description, it seems like he's in some gross omissions here.
