>What do you mean "tipped your hand?" Certainly you would have to look at it before attempting to negotigate a price. Since you've never said how much he wanted for it its hard to say if you should have or have not walked away. In good condition its worth $750-1500. I've never seen them sell for less than $900 on ebay.

>Yeah, they are that rare Steve. If it wasn't a nr 1, what do you think it was? 55$ is a great price for a nr 2. in good condition. Not a Todd Hughes $2 bargain mind you, but a very good price.

What's the name of the place, I'll be in El Paso at the end of May and wouldn't mind a little rust hunting.

There are some of the small blocks . Kinda rough though. Lots of work. Some braces also. But it changes all the time. Get SWMBO's Westmoreland milk glass there too. I'm from IL and we'd call it "rummage" stuff there BUT here its antiques a & collectables!

Its East Side Antiques. 9507 Viscount. One block north of the interstate. If youve been here its in the same strip mall as the Barnes & Noble on the east side. Eclectic - but once in a while . . . Tell 'Em the tall White Man with the ponytail sent ya !
