>I picked up a clear 7ft. length of 2 in thick white oak 16 in wide. It is planed and jointed. I bought it to use it for a bench top. It is really a nice piece of wood. Will I regret using oak for a bench top because it seems too slippery. I have $25 in to the wood so not a huge deal if I do have to buy something else but I would hate to waste such a piece. Please advise if you have an oak top and whether you are pleased with it.
