hand tool timeline

>I guess it could be "all tools" because the periods of history I am interested in were prior to power. I have an interest in building ancient musical instruments and have started on a couple. I have successfully built instruments that are more modern (still old timey, but not ancient). But now I am going back to the middle ages and Renaissance eras. I will build with what I have - hand and, yes - some power, tools in my shop. But I eventually want to go to to Renaissance fairs and other period re-enactment events as a demo vendor, where I may have a few things to sell but would also be demonstrating building. I know chisels, mallets, hatchets and saws are fine (for the most part, they don't have to be authentic but the tool should have existed in that time period). But what about planes? What types? I think a bow lathe is fine, but what about a treadle scrollsaw (I bought plans for one that I could build using period joinery)? Brace and bits? I have lots of time before I will actually go to such an event, but I want to start figuring out the list of tools I need to acquire/make and learn to use. What would be really useful would be to find a really inclusive timeline that should when tools were invented and/or used extensively.
I have been told by a couple of people that do these fairs that you can get away with just about any mostly wood non electric tool and that a wooden treadle scroll saw would probably be welcome.
