>I went to the Tools of the Trades show today, here in Pickering Ontario. I don't go to many of these things, but it was a fun show, not sure the crowds are enough to make it worthwhile. I hope all the folks who made the efort to sell had a good show. Suaer and Steiner were there with their works of the planemaker's art, always and inspiration!

I got a really nice pigsticker chisel, a tractor seat for my shaving horse, and a nice post vise. None of these items were too expensive, though in general I find tools have crossed the line where they are good value for a user. On the other had 16 dollars for a good quality, laminated Pig sticker, is value for money. 200 for a slick is not.

>I wish I could have made it to the show. The store opens tomorrow and there was still a bunch of stuff to be done. Duty calls. Besides, I am getting to drool over a bunch of old tools at the store. Part of the company collection of tools is a fantastic axe display from Collin's (I think). Gotta be about 40 of 'em along with the machete's (sp) they made. A nice old Beaver/Rockwell scroll saw which could serve double duty as an anchor on the QEII and an old Lee Valley 'prairie' grinder. Neat stuff but it means spreading the drool between the new toys, er, tools and the old.

Darrell, you always manage to dig up some treasures at Tools Of The Trade. What was it this year?

>I keep forgetting when this show is. I had hoped to make it there this year, even had the day off and everything, and I forgot. Alright, maybe I'll make it to the fall one.
