Is a brazed lever cap sound? *LINK*

>There's a Stanley 90 up on the Bay right now (see link), with a lever cap that's been brazed right at the pivot point, it appears. The seller's not very knowledgeable (he refers to the japanning being 75-80% on a plane that's visibly never had any japanning on it in its life, and he's got the lever cap installed backwards), but the plane looks otherwise decent, and there looks to be good blade life left. Could I expect the lever cap to work with a braze right at that point, assuming it's decently done?
