Rob Cosman's hand cut Mortise & Tenon DVD

Stephen in Ottawa

>I just got Rob's newest DVD on hand cut mortise and tenon joints. This is a 2 dvd set and well worth the money. I also have Jim Kingshott's M&T video and find the two have remarkably similar approaches to woodworking - precision and a love for the craft!

Rob covers tool selection including sharpening a rip saw in your shop, grinding and sharpening mortise and bevel edged chisels ( which is a very detailed section ), layout of the joint, cutting the mortise and tenon. He also covers the wedged through tenon. Camera angles are good and you can usually have a pretty good prespective on what he is doing.

I've always found Rob's methods to be practical and repeatable. His approach has always been to teach one to develop a skill using good tools and without the aid of jigs. He describes what works for him and why and this DVD is no different.
