Bad news, I'm afraid. A good number of the threads on Bailey planes predate thread standardisation, and are (almost) unique to Bailey planes.

The only source of taps and dies would be custom made ones, which is mondo pricy.

The threads vary slightly with brand and age; they're mainly constant.

Spares are your most economic route.

I wouldn't be keen on retapping. I guess it depends how big your repair pile is, and how many fixings and parts are missing.

The adjuster thread is not only custom, it's left handed!

I've re-tapped the tote holes on a couple of stanley's, a #4 and a #5. Both are fairly recent planes, post wwII I'd guess. Original thread size was something like 7/32-20, and I wanted to use new rods for the totes, as my home made totes were bigger than stock. It was very easy to run a 1/4-20 bottoming tap in and ream the holes out. I seem to recall reaming with a tap drill first, as I had trouble holding the little brass nuts. Anyway, its do-able.

Now as far as frog holes and stuff, can't help you there, never touched them, though in theory should be easy enough to do the same, as long as the thread pitch is standard.

I always thought Millers Falls were different from trying with out luck to fit the fence rods from a Stanley 78 into a FF 85 [?] but I found out recently that the brass nuts that go on the top of the totes rod will fit on both a Millers Falls and a Stanley so maybe some parts are interchangable....Todd
