Socket chisel handle style

Wendell @ Murphy, TX

>Most of the socket chisels I've seen come with handles similar to the Stanley 750 chisels. I got a paring chisel with a different style handle that I kind of like. It made me wonder what other styles might have been available in the past. I tried googling for "chisel handle styles" but it was too general a search to produce anything useful. Does anybody have a good resource showing examples of handle styles?

>You can get a real good idea of all of the different shapes of chisel handles by looking at old catalogs for Buck, Swan, PS&W, and other such tool makers or the old tool houses. Also look at Garrett Hack's book on old tools or at the books that give values for old tools. You can find these from Martin Donelly or Astragal Press.
