Take the studs that attach to the blade for ajustment and thread them into the other side of the blade. Bingo, you have two nice long holders (studs) to hold on to and with the width of the bevel you should have no problems holding on to it. Provided you can remove the blade adjusting studs any way...

Here's the MK.II honing guide, small blade holder and a low angle spokeshave blade. Note that I have not removed the posts, but the Shaptons sit fairly high and the width allows this use. Wider stones or ones which sit lower would affect not removing the posts.

I bought the spokeshave used with no manual. But I did go to Lee Valley's web site and check it out before and after buying. Somehow I totally missed the instructions. I think a visit to my eye doctor is in order 8-(

As pointed out down below, the instructions explain how to make a holder. If you didn't get those, Hoa, you can find them on the LV website. I've tried posting the reference below, but don't know if it'll work - if not, just go find the spokeshave at www.leevalley.com - the link is at "Instr" right next to the price at the bottom of the catalog description.
