I think his photos hurt the auction because of the way he took them the blade looks distorted....hard to tell what it really looks like. When you sell a knife this is not what you want as it is important that potential bidders can see the blade in profile. He has some other pretty nice marbles up for auction including a very nice saftey axe and a pretty rare canoe knife [I have one in better condition though with a lignum vitea pommel instead of antler]

I think I did well with the one I sold...though now from the advise given here I'm a thinking if I described it as a "piece of antler with pointy metal thing in the end" I might have done better!! .......Todd

The proper description would have been"piece of antler with metal jammed in it".

Be sure to sprinkle liberally with fine dust before taking the pic and play it down as a crude substitute for a real knfe.
