The 12mm convex bottom with toothed blade would be perfect.If you take a lamp with a 25 watt bulb and let it angle in at 25 to 30 degrees you will highlight all the subtle imperfections that you cannot usually see. Plane, scrape then check again.

Again though...I really like the way your chair fits together so much that I might try one.
