Bedrock 602 *GLOAT*

>HAHAHAHAHA - The holy grail has arrived! - and for only $90!!!

OK, now that is out of the way - the bad news - wrong chipbreaker (and by that I mean 2 inches too short!), the handles are all beat to hell, and the lever cap is wrong (and by that I mean some yokel tried to stick some orange field stanley thing on there). I have found sources to replace chipbreaker and knob/tote, but am having a hard time finding a suitable chipbreaker that isnt 3 times more $ than the plane. Anyone have any suggestions? Im not planning on putting this on the shelf and letting it collect dust so it doesnt have to be immaculate or the three liner cap either, just one that looks more like it goes on the plane.

Oh yeah - If anyone has ever set the plane to just the right depth so that they can feel the individual mill marks come off - stand up and give me a "OH YEAH!" Man thats the kind of thing that can hook a person for the rest of their natural life!

Mike in Katy can make the new knob & tote for you.

>You said you found a knob & tote. You also said you found a chipberaker. In the next sentence you state you can't find a chipbreaker. Are you having trouble finding a chipbreaker or lever cap?

>Make that a lever cap! Im having a hard time finding a levercap that is suitable - preferably an older bedrock lever cap but not neccesarily the original three liner. Got a bit to excited as I was typing!

>early round side pre 1925. Original was the three line lever cap but am looking for single line - "Bedrock". I do know later were 'regular' stanleys but hoping someone would have a source other than ebay.

>Chris I saw your post and wondered if you got any good responses to your need for some parts? There are a couple guys in the local tool collectors club that collect #2s so they may be able to help you out. Get in touch with me if you are interested and I'll get their names for you and contact information.
