"The Nature of Gothic" from The Stones of Venice is frequently referenced, and was one of the writings that so influenced Morris et al. I believe the e-text exists at Project Gutenberg.

Yep. Pretty nice stuff, eh? We've* got a few of their editions, including the Kelmscott Chaucer, which is quite fun to look through.

Let me know if you've managed to find "The Nature of Gothic"- I know I've got a plain text version of it here somewhere which I can send to you if you'd like.

You are a fortunate fellow, Bill. I think that classifies as a "drive-by" of an academic sort. :-)

All I have seen is the Dover facsimile of the Klemscott The Wood Beyond The World... which ain't sayin much.

Should be "Kelmscott"
