Blades for Record 044

Paul Erickson

>Anyone know of a source of blades for the Record 044? Google has turned up nothing, and a previous query here about parts made some suggestions, but those don't seem to have any. I also am looking for a lever cap, but I expect I will have to make one.

Thanks in advance.

cheers, Paul

His list #19

Says 28 GBP for a set.

I have a plan for the lever cap:

>When I bought my Record #044 it had just one blade. Finding original blades proved frustrating - either the blades were not available on the second-hand market, or expensive if new. So I decided to make my own. Or, at least, convert a bunch of surplus Stanley #45 blades.

These have worked very well.

This is described in more detail in the Link below.

>You can pick up 044's really cheap. Its cheaper to go for another one with a full set of blades than buy the blades separately.
