Box for a 45

>I started on a box for the heck of it and about halfway through figured I'd put my 45 in it, as it normally just kicks around the bench and isn't designed real well for shelf sitting. The box is alder with Doug fir frames top and bottom. A bit of purpleheart and maple around the innards. The frame and panels were my first hand cut M & T's as well...I thought they turned out pretty fair. Of course, no electrons were harmed through the whole job.

How is the bottom attached? For that matter the top too?

The top and bottom frame and panels have a shallow rabbet around the perimeter into which the box sides are seated and glued. I originally intended to plow the sides for the panels directly, but needed the extra height after I decided to house the 45 in it. I needed the practice anyhow, and it seems to make for pretty stout construction.
The "claws" were fun too. It's funny how things tend to evolve when you just keep working with no plan in advance.

Nice little box you made. It reminds me of a 'mini' cabinetmakers chest. Projects that incorporate 'firsts' are nice, specially when they'll be around (being used) instead of in the back of a drawer. Thanks for sharing.
