>Andr� Jacob Roubo, son and grand-son of masters in woodworking, he received himself the title of Master in 1774. He wrote a complete treatise on woodworking and tried to encompass all trades related to working wood. His work was first published in the annals of the French Academy of sciences and republished in its entirety in 2002. His work has 1784 pages and more than 380 plates of engravings. It is considered, even today, as the Bible of the woodworker. It goes to great length in explaining the technical knowledge of the trades that entered a golden age in his time. Everything seems to be in there : milling, geometry, choice of wood, profiles, joinery, tools, you name it.
